My tentative topic for my research paper is how to discipline children in the home. My daughter is 10months old and is starting to learn cause and effect and is purposefully doing things because of the reaction it gets either for my husband and I or the object she is manipulating.
I believe my parents did a pretty good job disciplining my siblings and I, but in our current times spanking, yelling, and many other forms of discipline have deemed taboo or child-abuse. Children can run rampant in public, use foul language and be plain and simple disrespectful to anyone around them and many parents appear powerless in such situations. I do not wish that for my family.
I would like to learn about methods to use to discipline my daughter both in the home and in public. That are meaningful and effective without being "illegal".
